The air defence (PVO)
A twin launcher on a tripod, bought and placed like a turret - under open sky, or it cannot fire. It works by itself: it looks for the enemy's drones within its range and in its sight, and for Grad rockets coming down around it; turns to the nearest, locks on for a moment (you hear the beeps) and sends an interceptor that flies to where its target is going to be. A few launches, then it reloads. Every interception earns its owner money.
It does not shoot people and it does not see through walls or smoke; a drone flying low behind houses gets past it. Two PVOs at a base cover each other's blind time.
The Grad
A pack of rockets on a tripod, placed under open sky at the base. Its owner - or a teammate who paid to reload it - looks at it and holds R: the eyes go into a camera high above the launcher, looking straight down. WASD slides the view over the map; the circle in the middle is the area. The left button fixes it: a siren sounds for the whole server, everybody sees an alert - your team where the salvo goes, the other team that it is coming and how far from them - and after a delay the rockets leave one after another and come down over the area for a few seconds.
A rocket bursts like a grenade where it lands: on the ground, on a roof, on a wall. Cover works - a rocket that lands behind a wall does not hurt you through it. A spent Grad has to be reloaded for a share of its price and cools down first; then whoever paid may aim it.
Surviving a salvo
When the siren goes and your screen says the area is on you, do not run in the open: get under a roof, behind a solid wall, into a house. Rockets that a PVO shoots down never land. Nets do nothing against rockets - they are for drones.
Advice
- A PVO next to your Grad protects the Grad from the answer - a kamikaze drone.
- Aim the Grad at where the enemy respawns and gathers, not at a single runner.
- The delay before the salvo is meant for your own team: the alert tells them to step back.
