What it does
A telescopic mast on a tripod with antennas and a box of equipment at its foot. It is bought in the shop on F3, one a player, and put down like any building. Round it is the dome: a wide circle on the ground and the column of air above it.
Every weapon that is aimed from above first shows its gunner the map from a height: the ballistic strike and the air strike - a view of their own over the head, the Grad and the mortar - a camera over the launcher. Under your tower’s dome that map shows neither your players nor your buildings. The gunner sees bare ground and has to fire at a guess or look for a target elsewhere.
The tower itself kills nobody and shoots nothing down. It makes the enemy’s expensive weapons blind - and that is often worth more than one more turret.
The second level: drones
Walk up to your mast and press E - the upgrade costs as much as the tower itself. The mast extends, jammer panels appear on it, the dome gets wider.
From then on an enemy drone that flies under the dome loses its link: a jamming warning on the pilot’s screen, then the controls go, and the machine falls. At the mast itself that happens at once, at the dome’s edge within a couple of seconds. It jams every drone the enemy has: the FPV kamikaze, the gun drone, the Shahed.
Your own drones under your dome keep their link - the jamming is not for them. A drone on a fibre (a VIP privilege) does not mind somebody else’s tower either: a wire cannot be jammed.
How to fight it
If you aim at the enemy base and see bare ground where turrets stood a minute ago - they are under a dome. The choices: fire blind at what you remember, go on foot, or look for the mast.
The mast is tall and easy to see, and it is an ordinary building with its own health. It is taken down with bullets from a distance, with a blast next to it, with a salvo sent at a guess into the middle of the base. While it is of the first level the FPV drone does well against it; once upgraded, a drone gets there only on a fibre.
Your own team is not hindered by the dome at all: strikes are aimed from under it as usual.
Advice
- Put the tower in the middle of the base: the dome is a circle round the mast, and whatever sticks out past its edge the gunner will see.
- The tower hides, it does not protect: a shell sent blind at your base goes off as usual. Do not keep everything in one heap.
- Upgrade it as soon as the enemy has drones: the second level closes both the dome and the mast itself to them.
