The point and the ring
The point is an antenna and a ring on the ground around it. The ring’s colour says whose the point is: white is nobody’s, red is the terrorists’, blue is the counter-terrorists’. Whoever stands inside the ring counts. The panel on the left of the screen shows both teams’ clocks, the name of the place and what is happening on the point.
The point has a new place every round. A map has several places, and the next one is never the one before.
Taking and holding
To take a point that is not yours, stand in the ring for 5 seconds with no enemy in it. While a capture goes on, the ring blinks in the colour of the team that takes it. Driven out too soon, and the capture rolls back.
Once the point is yours, your team’s clock runs. It runs while three things are true: the point is yours, somebody of your team is in the ring, no enemy is in the ring. An enemy steps in and everything stands still, and the ring blinks red and blue.
If all of your team leave the ring, the clock stops and a count of 5 seconds begins. Come back sooner and nothing is lost. Do not, and the point is nobody’s again.
The seconds a team has gained stay with it until the round ends. The point can be taken back; the count cannot.
How a round ends
The team whose clock reaches 180 seconds wins the round. If nobody has done it in 12 minutes, the team with more seconds wins, and with equal seconds the team that holds the point. If the point is nobody’s at that moment, there are 2 minutes of extra time until the first capture. Nobody takes it, and the round is a draw.
Between rounds there is a pause of 15 seconds. The buildings are removed, everybody returns to the bases, and the antenna stands in a new place.
Buildings and money
A round pays 3000 to the winners and 1000 to the losers. A draw pays 1000 to everybody. Standing on your own point pays 50 every 5 seconds: holding pays even without frags.
In this mode a building does not vanish when its owner dies: it stands until the round ends. So the defence of the approaches works even while you are running back from the base. Nothing can be built inside the ring.
What to take a point with
A point that is held has to be cleared first. The mortar drops its mines into the ring without a warning. The kamikaze drone flies where you cannot run. The Grad covers the whole area but sounds its siren. The team that holds the point needs air defence over the approaches, walls against direct fire and a dispenser next to the ring.
Advice
- The point is held by standing on it: a turret will not hold it. While nobody of your team is in the ring, your clock stands.
- Left the ring? You have 5 seconds to come back. After that the point is nobody's and has to be taken again.
- One enemy in the ring stops both the capture and the clocks. Drive him out first, count seconds after.
- Nothing can be built inside the ring. Put the defence on the approaches and keep air defence over it.
- Seconds gained are never lost. Lost the point? Take it back and go on from the same count.
